Opening night at 700 Broadway, Santa Monica

Firecracker Marketing hired me to photograph the opening of 700 Broadway in Santa Monica. The guests were the people who ran and owned the building and the architects who designed it, so the job was partly an event and partly a record of the people behind the property.
The rooftop sunset was nice. It was a very LA place to shoot. I covered a mix of step-and-repeat portraits, mingling, and the VIPs speaking, then the event moved from the rooftop to the courtyard after dark.
The courtyard was already lit, so it wasn't especially difficult to photograph at night. The coverage just had to move with the guests and keep the building present in the frames instead of turning into generic reception photos.
One of the people running the building also needed some real-estate-style photographs, so they took me into a bedroom to shoot it at sundown while I was already there. They liked those enough to hire me back to photograph a substantial number of the property's interiors and exteriors for its website.
The opening-night set was used across press, social media, the property website, and the event recap.
