Photography is what I do. But plenty of events — most, honestly — need video too: recap edits, sizzle reels, conference coverage, interviews, social. When they do, I bring in Lake Effect Films. We’ve worked together for years, so instead of hiring a separate crew and hoping the two teams sort each other out on the day, it’s one crew that already knows each other. They handle video, I handle photo. And we have a good time doing it.

We’re not one company and I won’t pretend we are. You can get us both on the same email thread and we’ll sort out the day together — but we quote and bill separately. I cover the photo, Lake Effect covers the video. Two invoices, one crew that’s actually worked together. My photo rates are the same as everywhere else — see rates.

Lake Effect isn’t a rental crew. They’re a Fairfax production company that’s shot for Samsung, PUMA, Ferrari, AT&T, and Tidal — RED and Sony Venice, drones and custom scores when the job needs it. They handle their side, I handle mine.

Pricing, deliverables, turnaround, footage rights — that’s Lake Effect’s side, not mine. Tell them what the video’s for and they’ll quote it. Easiest is to send me the event and I’ll put you on a thread with them.
